THE 'PREZ' SAYS....
As all of you know, we'll be without our field from the end of August through September 26th. During that time, we will have Oxford Park available to us on Mon-Wed-Fri starting on Sept 6th through Sept 22nd. The times will not change meaning it'll be 8:00 am for a little batting practice then the game will start right after
.

Roger

Hello All:
Roger, Dom, and I met this afternoon to set up the pre-season tourney, which will be held on Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25 at the SCS Softball Field. The purpose of the tournament is to have some fun and give the managers and players a couple games to shake out their lineups, substitutions, and rotations before league play begins on Monday the 27th.
Since one of the objectives is to have fun, we have decided to have inter-league play during the tourney. As is done in traditional Senior Softball tourneys, we will handicap the AL vs. NL games as follows:

1. One-up home run rule. Once a team hits an over the fence home run, they cannot hit another until the other team hits one. Hits over the fence while one-up will result in a ground rule single. There are no restrictions on "inside the park" home runs.

2. NL teams will be spotted 1.5 runs per inning in which the NL team bats.
We will begin each at bat with a 1-1 count and games will be 5 innings or one hour, whichever comes first. There will be four games on Friday, beginning at 8:00 AM and continuing on the hour at 9, 10, and 11. There will be three games on Saturday, beginning at 9:00 AM and continuing at 10, and 11, with a cookout for players at 12:30.

The schedule is:

FRIDAY
Game #1 (8AM Friday)
AL Red vs. AL Blue

Game #2 (9AM Friday)
NL Red vs. NL Blue

Game #3 (10 AM Friday)
AL Green vs. Winner of AL Game #1

Game #4 (11 AM Friday)
NL Green vs. Winner of NL Game #2

SATURDAY
Game #5 (9 AM Saturday) - Consolation
Loser of AL Game #1 vs. Loser of NL Game #2

Game #6 (10 AM Saturday) - Third Place
Loser of AL Game #3 vs. Loser of NL Game #4

Game #7 (11 AM Saturday) - Championship
Winner of AL Game #3 vs. Winner of NL Game #4

Player/Fan Cookout - 30 minutes after Championship Game
If you have questions, please contact me at 702-266-7866 or by return email. Please make sure all of your players are informed about the tourney. Andy, please forward this message to all NL players. Gary, I assume all teams will have uniforms by the start of the tourney or they can pick them up at the tourney.

Thanks much,
JimH
