Minutes of the NL Managers meeting follows

(NOTE: These rules are for the NL, and not yet adopted by the AL):

The infield fly rule will be in effect for all games. For example:
Runners on first and second or bases loaded
There are less than two outs
Pop fly is hit to an infielder and that ball can be caught
The batter is automatically out and
Runners advance at their own risk
In order for a team to take players off the fence, a minimum of six players from that team must be present. Otherwise, the game will be forfeited.
When running to second or third base, the runner’s foot MUST BE DOWN, either on the bag - the line - or past the line BEFORE the ball hits the glove.

If a ball hit back to the mound, hits the glove - then the screen, it’s a live ball.
With less than two strikes on the batter, if the ball hits the screen, without hitting the pitchers glove, it’s a strike. With two strikes on the batter, hitting the screen again will be a dead ball. Batter cannot strike out by hitting the screen.
New Split Season
This year will be a split season. The first half of the season will end 12/25/10. The second half of the season will be when it normally ends.
At the end of both seasons, the first place teams of each League will play each other. If the same team won both seasons, there will be a round robin, with all three National teams participating, to decide the championship.

National League Rule Clarification

The three National league managers have agreed to the following:

The infield fly rule will be in effect for all games. For example:
Runners on first and second or bases loaded
There are less than two outs
Pop fly is hit to an infielder and that ball can be caught
The batter is automatically out and
Runners advance at their own risk

In order for a team to take players off the fence, a minimum of six players from that team must be present. Otherwise, the game will be forfeited.

SUN CITY SOFTBALL MINUTES 6/16/10
________________________________________
The meeting was held on Wednesday, June 16th to receive the commissioners’ decision on assigning players to each League.
In attendance were:
Roger Van Praet Al Romano
Dom Calderone Joe Calderone
Jim Herhusky John Bellavia
Andy Anderson Ron Lipovich
There are 72 paid members in the League. The breakdown is as follows:
• 42 American League members
• 30 National League members
Three American League players agreed to move to the National League,
which sets the numbers at:
• 39 American League players
• 33 National League players
Since 33 players are not enough to fill three teams, Roger and Jim volunteered to move to the National League, if no other solution could be found.
A proposal was made to set the schedule up to have the American League
play all early games and the National League play the late games. This would provide a pool of American League players for play in the National League if they wanted to, in order to make up a complete team.

Dom felt that with the following conditions, the National League would be viable.
With a change in the schedule, there would be a pool of American League players that if needed, could play, if they wanted to. This is conditional, if there are National league players on the fence, they will be chosen first.
National league players from the team not scheduled, would be alternates for the teams scheduled.
First choice of new players would go to the National League.
Roger and Jim stay in the American league.
